GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY THREAD...
Timex: American Documents

Yesterday we gave you American made denim. Today we give you an all American watch. It's America week. We strive to bring you as many American made goods as possible. But this week, that's all you're going to get. Promise.
Our buddy Seth put us on a new watch from Timex. The American Documents series is bringing Timex watchmaking back to the USA. Every piece, except the movement (we'll cover that) is made in America.
The back coin is plated with aged brass to match Timex's original watches. It's also hand polished before it gets to your doorstep.
The movement is Swiss. Timex says there are currently no US made movements that meet their quality standards. This checks out with us.
The strap is sourced from S.B. Foot Tanning in Red Wing, MN. You know another great American company from that city don't you?
Our favorite part? The hand polished and felt lined solid cherry wood box the watch comes in. If you're not showing it off on your wrist, you'll have a safe home for it.
What the Helicopter was Winnebago Thinking?

During WW2, an Elon Musk lookalike fantasized about helicopters becoming common vehicles for the middle class. He was wrong. But in 1976, Winnebago and a Florida entrepreneur tried their best to make it happen.
If you can't tell, that's a really old magazine. Can you read the price? Only 35 cents. It's from September of 1977. You can't buy a helicopter RV anymore, but we sure wish you could.
And when you consider that it's a FLYING RV, the price tag wasn't so bad.
