Play More: 10 Ways to Get Outside & Explore Your Local Backyard this Winter

Okay, so currently we’re living at a ski resort, which means now that winter is here we’re enjoying skiing every day (usually a few runs at lunch at least!), but there is so much to do in winter…take this great post and make it a checklist. (11 min read)
My Favs on the list include:
#3 - Use an app to find new trails close to you. My methodology is to use a local Facebook hiking group to see what everyone is chatting about. Then search for locations on Alltrails or using the Backroads Mapbook.
#8 - Make your summer activity a winter activity. Biking in the winter is so much fun when the snow is packed and not too slushy. We might also try some winter camping this year…🥶 or maybe we’ll try some early spring camping first.
Do Better: Humans Must Take A Pledge To Protect Mountains
MTN Impact exists, in part, to do our share to make sure the mountains (and planet earth for that matter) are still in good shape for our great-grandkids. This boring post speaks to a one day workshop in India on International Mountain Day…one day workshop?? It’s Mountain Day every day here at MTN Impact! Let’s keep wasting less and doing better so that we can continue to play more in the mountains! (that’s kind of our tag line thingy). (no link because it was really boring)
“…mountains are under threat from climate change, land degradation, over exploitation and natural disasters, with potentially far-reaching and devastating consequences, both for mountain communities and the rest of the world,”
